After years of waiting for its release fans that were looking forward to seeing The Wolfman in November 2009 have been told that the release will not occur until February 12th, 2010! The studio, Universal Pictures, has said that the reason being is that special effects have made delays in being able to release the trailer that was desired to be shown.

After waiting years to finally see this film, many filmgoers are understandably disappointed over this, many of whom are planning to watch The Wolfman online. However, because the studio is being meticulous in making the special effects as spectacular as they will be, the avid fans are expressing disappointment as well as experiencing even more eagerness to see this film finally.

When Universal first announced that it was making the picture, back in March 2006 with the star-to-be Academy Award winner Benicio Del Toro playing the part of the werewolf, the picture has encountered many set backs. There were changes in the director, changes in screenwriter, and hundreds if not more changes in conceptions about one thing or another, each creating a delay in making this long-awaited spectacle.

With Joe Johnston directing this film and bringing his incredible talent to the movie, it’s certainly a credible explanation for the date having been pushed forward. After all, incorporating special effects in a film is Joe Johnston’s specialty, as he did in his award winning film Raiders of the Lost Ark. This is yet another reason why moviegoers are exhibiting anxiousness to finally see the film but are curbing their annoyance as well as they are with regard to long delays, though many have planned to see The Wolfman online.

With the film being pushed for fruition by fans, some of them have been noticeably concerned that it is taking so very long to find its way to final release. This certainly accounts for the plethora of rumors that have beleaguered this film since 2006! However, fans are encouraged that the film is close enough to have had a trailer released for it.

The rumors are currently being fueled by comments supposedly made about the movie by a Universal Pictures executive, Adam Fogelson, who leaked out to Variety that the reason for additional delays was simply a matter of financial reasons. Because Fogelson is president of both marketing as well as distribution for Universal, this sudden “reasoning” for delays is not well accepted by moviegoers, but rather has fueled even more rumors about problems with the film. Filmgoers are clamoring to finally watch The Wolfman online.
